The National Foster Parent Association is a national organization composed of state and local affiliates in most of the 50 states and in the U.S. territories. NFPA's philosophy is that foster/adoptive and kinship care providers need support close at hand, and that state policy affects the quality of care to a great degree. Affiliate development and support is thus a high priority in the strategic plan for the organization, and a great deal of effort is expended to help states forge alliances and develop strategies to improve outcomes for the over 500,000 children and youth in care. Staff member, Carl Jones, Affiliate Organization Specialist, is assigned solely to this task.
NFPA Membership Survey
As part of a grant for organizational development provided by Casey Family Programs in Seattle, a survey of membership was conducted by the firm, 7 November. The purpose of the survey is to determine the direction of the organization as it moves forward.
